Oh, this is one of my favorite engagement sessions. The lighting was soft and perfect and Christina & Ryan were so cute in front of the camera! Once you look down below, I’ll think you’ll agree– this session was dreamy! I think Christina’s ring is beautiful; the diamond was Ryan’s grandmother’s and Christina picked the setting.
Christina and Ryan met online and as they say, “the rest is history!” Jakub and I had so much fun chatting with them during the session, I forgot to even ask about the proposal story!
Since I forgot to get the details in person, I emailed Christina to get the full proposal story. Below you’ll find their proposal story written by Christina.
“We went ring shopping in November and we had discussed getting engaged in the winter time! Then we were going away for a mountain trip to Boone with our friends. Originally our trip was planned in January, but we canceled that trip. When we canceled I said, ‘Oh it would have been perfect for you to propose at the mountains!’ Then we rescheduled the trip for February! We were going to Atlanta the following weekend after the mountains trip in February, and Ryan had mentioned going to dinner just the two of us in Atlanta (this kind of threw me off). I also hadn’t gotten my nails done in 3 weeks and he was freaking out because that was a big must have, but luckily my nails were fine enough just a bit outgrown!! So I kind of thought it was happening the next weekend in Atlanta, but he had planned it (without my knowing) for our friend Harrison to take the pictures when we got engaged. Also Brittani (a photographer friend) was on this trip too and she had her camera, and she got some amazing pictures too. Everyone pretty much knew in the friend group when we arrived Thursday night (not me of course), so when we went hiking Friday, I didn’t think anything of it and he actually proposed in the first spot. He wasn’t sure that there was another spot after this one he wanted instead, so it threw EVERYONE off! But he got down on one knee and said “You know how much I love you, will you marry me”? Sweet and to the point and he whipped out the ring! I was so shocked and wanted to KNOW everything and tell everyone haha (but that was only the first stop of the hike), so I had like 3 or 4 hours of this big secret and until I could call all my family! But It was perfect and we spent the rest of the weekend up there in Boone celebrating with our friends!”
How sweet is that proposal story?! Ryan really did surprise Christina and it I think it was so fun that their friends were there to celebrate this milestone with them.
I think this may be the most photos I’ve posted for an engagement session, but there were just so many that I love and wanted to include them all!
