I approach each session & wedding with an intentional, storytelling approach to truly tell the story of your day as it unfolds. My goal is to photograph snapshots in time which will bring back the emotions of the day, from intimate connections to posed, formal images.
My approach is a balance of planning, friendship and stepping back to authentically document your day in an elegant and joyful style. I believe in blending careful planning, genuine camaraderie, and a discreet presence to capture your day in an elegant and joyful style. FAQS
I'm getting married outside NC (or outside the US.) Do you travel?
YES! Other than photography, traveling and seeing new locations is my biggest passion. I’m always ready for a new adventure, and I would love to hear all about your wedding details!
My fiancé feels awkward in front of the camera...will we still get candid, romantic pictures?
Absolutely! It’s totally normal to feel a little awkward in front of the camera. I will help direct you into poses that feel natural, and I have a few secrets to help break the ice and make everyone laugh. By the end of the session, I guarantee that everyone will have had a great time and feel more natural in front of the camera.
What's included in the wedding packages?
Every package is different, but even the smallest package includes: at least seven hours of coverage, an engagement session, and an online viewing gallery.
The bigger packages have the above and a higher amount of hourly coverage, two photographers, and have differing amount of credits.
Credits help you tailor the packages to best fit your big day! I want you to be able to choose what you works best for you. Some examples of ways to use credits are: a bridal session, rehearsal dinner coverage, and an additional hour of coverage.

Why is an engagement session included in the wedding packages?
I love to use this complimentary session as a way for us to become even more comfortable with one another. This session helps you and your sweetheart become more at ease in front of the camera before your big day.
Don’t worry if you or your fiancé feel nervous or awkward- we will have fun during the session and I will make sure your photos turn out beautifully!
What is your approach when shooting a wedding?
My goal is to be the storyteller of your wedding day and to be as inconspicuous as possible. I want to capture as many candid moments as possible, so when you look at your gallery, you travel back to that moment!
I use the same philosophy when we shoot portraits during the wedding, and I will try not to take up too much of your time. I will help guide you to look your best, have fun, and then get you back to your party as soon as possible!
My shooting style is a cross between fine art images and candid documentary. I believe blending these two shooting styles gives my couples the highlights of their day and captures the true emotions, while maintaining the true, timeless elegance of your wedding day.
How long will it be before I receive my images?
For portraits and engagement sessions, it’s typically between one to two weeks.
For weddings, my contract says six weeks, but I always try to get them to you as soon as possible, and strive for three to four weeks.
I send sneak peeks within two business days after our session & four business days after your wedding. I know you don’t want to wait for all your images, so these sneak peeks help get you excited for what is to come!
What should we wear to our session?
I encourage you to show off your personal style for family & lifestyle sessions!
If it’s for a family session, I generally tell people to pick one printed item (ex. dress, shirt) and pick coordinating colors from that garment. Most everyone else can wear a solid or basic pattern that doesn’t clash with the printed garment.
Most importantly, please wear what you’re comfortable in! My goal is to get candid shots of you, your sweetheart, children, and loved ones; wearing clothes that you feel confident and comfortable in really helps! A good base is to pick an outfit you love wearing and seem to always get compliments on.
Additionally, little details make a big impact! Having a manicure, matching socks, and the perfect accessories go a long way. I encourage you to lay out your outfit the night before, so there aren’t any surprises the day of our shoot!

Why do you photograph lifestyle newborn sessions over posed/studio sessions?
My favorite thing about lifestyle newborn photography is capturing the wonder and amazement between family members.
Newborns are incredible, but so is the love in the air. Memories of this time-frame often become fuzzy for new parents, and that is precisely why I feel these types of shoots are so important.
I value both types of sessions, so I will use part of our session for posed photos of your babe, but I love to let your newborn move, yawn, and stretch; babies have wonderful, perfect, sweet movements and I like to showcase these too.
What if it rains the day of my session/wedding?
If we get rained out for your session, we will reschedule for another date or relocate to your home. If it rains on your wedding day, it’s good luck! I will bring some clear umbrellas for outdoor portraits, and don’t worry– rain can make for magical, romantic photos.
