You may remember this couple from their fall engagement session at Bass Lake Park. Elizabeth and Howard tied the knot in early January in Ivanhoe, North Carolina. Ivanhoe is near the coast and has that beautiful Spanish moss hanging from some trees.
The held the ceremony at Black River Presbyterian Church, which is a registered historical building. They held their reception across the road at Ivanhoe Baptist Church. Elizabeth’s grandmother was her maid-of-honor, and Howard’s dad was his best man. Due to the pandemic and knowing that not all their guests would feel comfortable eating in the fellowship hall, Elizabeth & Howard so kindly made to-go plates available; this was such a thoughtful gesture and a special way to still be able to share a meal on their wedding day with all guests.
Elizabeth’s sister unexpectedly passed away the night before the wedding; Elizabeth wanted to cancel their wedding, but thought her sister would be upset if she didn’t marry the man of her dreams as planned. While there were tear-filled moments scattered throughout the day, there was so much joy & love surrounding Elizabeth & Howard. Elizabeth placed a single, white rose on the pew where her sister would’ve sat. Scroll down below to see how Elizabeth decorated Black River Church and to see her as a beautiful bride!
