Oh, I just love engagement sessions and getting to meet our sweet couples before their wedding day. Elizabeth wanted to have their engagement session in waterfront Washington, NC. This was Jakub and I’s first time visiting Washington, NC and it was so charming! The downtown area is so cute, with the exposed brick, pink buildings, and old glass…there’s so much texture to choose from for the backdrops for their engagement session! You may know this, but I love playing with textures and colors, as well as natural light, in the background of images to really make the people pop in their photos.
This engagement session was the perfect engagement session to start of the year! A new city we got to explore, a beautiful & fun couple to photograph, and we got to walk along the waterfront!
For their proposal story, Travis completely surprised Elizabeth! He picked out the ring by himself at a jeweler store that had a nice Italian restaurant in the same center. Since the Italian restaurant is in the same shopping center, the manager at the restaurant said he would help Travis propose.
Elizabeth thought they were having a nice date night out, but little did she know what Travis had planned! The day before, he walked through the restaurant and planned with the manager.
On the night of the proposal, Travis didn’t get too nervous until right when he went to ask the question. Travis said he had about three paragraphs written out of what he wanted to say, but he only got out a couple sentences before he asked “will you marry me?”
